Historic England are the public body that champions and protects England's historic places.

More than 400,000 of the most important historic places in England are listed. You can search for a listed building on the Historic England website. The list includes buildings, battlefields, monuments, parks, gardens, shipwrecks and more. Listing makes sure their value is protected.
