A small modern church with an interior of devotional character.

Mass was first said in West End in the village hall. St Brigid’s was built at a cost of £15,000 in 1968 on land acquired in 1958 for £1,800. It is a simple rectangular brick building under a concrete tiled roof with bold eaves and gable fascia renewed in uPVC. The gabled entrance elevation has a central full height recess or slot, glazed above, from which an open gabled porch on brick piers awkwardly projects. Full-height side windows grouped in threes with staggered glazing pattern. Windows have been replaced in uPVC. The interior is calm and devotional, the nave flooded with light but the sanctuary darker and dominated by two large painted icon-like pictures. Exposed brick walls. The sloping parts of the ceiling boarded, the flat central section with a suspended ceiling. Furnishings of the time of the church and not of particular aesthetic interest.
