A dual-purpose church and parish hall of largely functional design by Reynolds & Scott, who built a great number of Catholic churches in the post-war years. There is some architectural variety in the treatment of the rooflines and ceiling.

A parish was formed in 1967 and the new church opened in the following year. It was designed as a dual purpose church-hall, but plans for a new church on the site, leaving the existing building as a hall, were not realised. A separate parish hall has been added more recently.

The main body of the church is of brick on a square plan, with bold eaves detail. There are gables in each face, each one with windows glazed in slits or in narrow rectangles. Ancillary facilities, including a hall, are clustered around the worship space. The interior has a pyramidal ceiling clad in hardboard strips. The altar is on a low platform with simple bench seating on three sides. Furnishings are generally simple and modern.
