No historical information has been obtained. According to the Diocesan Yearbook, the building was opened in 1965. It occupies a large site and has the appearances of a hall intended to serve a church that was never built. It is a chapel-of-ease served by St Mary on the Sea, Grimsby. It is modern brick faced framed structure with a shallow pitched sheet metal roof and a later entrance lobby built of blockwork. uPVC windows on the south side. The interior is a single multi-purpose space.
