A prefabricated modern building of no architectural or historic interest.

The combined hall and chapel of St Bernadette at Shevington was opened on 5 February 1961 by the Rev. Dr Malone, parish priest of St Marie’s, Standish. The site was provided by Mr H. Hilton. The building was designed Messrs. Vic Hallam and the main contractors were Messrs. R. & J. Bradley, of Ashton-in-Makerfield. The chapel is capable of seating up to 300 people. It is a single-storey structure clad in vertical cedar boarding. Fake leaded windows with applied Gothic glazing bars, shallow felt roof. There is a statue of St Bernadette outside at the east end.
