A functional modern church erected as a design and build commission. 

The parish originated in the 1960s, as a Mass Centre served from Our Lady of the Rosary, Sutton, originally using All Saints Church of England Church Hall in Stayton Road. A hall was built in 1977 and the first Mass celebrated there on 28 August 1977. In 1986 Holy Family became an independent parish. The church was built in 1988 as a design-and-build commission from Stocks Buildings Ltd., Garforth, Leeds. The service of Dedication was held on 5 March 1989. A presbytery was built in the early 1990s.

Description

The church is a simple structure, rectangular on plan with the low side walls and gabled end walls faced in pink brick laid in stretcher bond and a steeply-pitched overall roof covered in concrete tiles. The west wall has four thin brick buttresses and a projecting timber bay porch which looks like a recent addition. Above the porch is a cross in the brickwork. The side walls have plain rectangular windows. The east gable wall has two pairs of concrete-farmed rectangular windows with a cross in the brickwork between them.

The interior has a glazed entrance lobby flanked by small rooms and the main church space is a single volume with a parquet floor, plastered walls and a tall pitched ceiling covered with acoustic tiles. The side windows have yellow glass. The four east windows have figures of the four British saints in stained glass inserted in the 1990s and 2006 as memorials (by Andrew Taylor). All the fittings are contemporary with the church or later.
