26 All Hallows Road, Bispham, Blackpool FY2 OAS
Post war church, not (on the basis of external inspection) of special architectural or historic interest. Part of a major programme of church building in post-war Blackpool.
Of the same date, and by the same architects as Christ the King, Blackpool. Forms part of a major building programme in post-war Blackpool. Two years before the opening of St Bernadette’s, Bishop Flynn had said (at the opening of the church of Our Lady of the Assumption): ‘We need churches…In Blackpool alone I need to provide two or three more churches as soon as possible. I have opened five temporary churches…in the last two or three years. I want others through the length and breadth of this large diocese’.
