The church is a post-war structure, built as a chapel-of-ease to Chepstow. It has an attached hall, the St Paul’s Community Hall, which was refurbished in 2007 and officially opened by Archbishop Peter Smith of Cardiff.

The building is a utilitarian prefabricated structure of post-war date, with an entrance lobby and a wide, low single-volume worship space under a steel-framed roof. There is a matching suite of timber altar, ambo and font in the sanctuary.
